06/19 De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis No Laughing Matter
While hitting that famous "funny bone" causes a strange sensation to radiate down your arm, there is nothing funny about suffering from the extremely annoying and somewhat debilitating pain caused by de quervain's tenosynovitis. Thankfully, though, even though this pain in the hand in the wrist is annoying and sometimes misdiagnosed as Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, you needn't worry. De Quervain's is easily treated, usually through cortisone shots, splinting the thumb, and icing the wrist. And, in most cases once the symptoms have been treated and they disappear, the problem rarely ever reappears, which is a huge relief to the many that have suffered from it.
