10/31 The Objectives of Brazilian Diplomacy
The objective of Brazilian foreign policy is to increase the regional and global interst of Brazil through the Mercosul and other regional and financial sectors. Brazil has been heavily involved in issues such as environmental maintenance, human rights and other important issues in the international global debates. Other foreign policy concerns of Brazil is strengthening its link with the community of Portuguese speaking nations. All members of Brazilian diplomatic corps. are trained at IRBr [Rio Branco Institute]. Its current director is Fernando Guimaraes Reis. Students who complete the three year course will be confirmed into the Foreign Service as Third Secretaries.
