Also, the healthier, the better. I don’t want anything that’s really heavily breaded or fried. And one more thing, cheese is a plus! We all love cheese and would love to incorporate some into a chicken casserole or something similar. If you have any good recipes, please post them. I’m happy to share some of my recipes with you if you want to trade! And of course, I’ll let you know how it turns out. Thanks again!

Every one is talking about social media these days. If it’s not Facebook it’s MySpace. If not that, it’s Delicious, then LinkedIn, and many other companies are trying to get in on the game too. I can’t quite see it. Why would I want to let everyone know who I am and where I am, how many kids I have and what I do for a living. Sheesh! What happened to privacy? And in a world where privacy is valued to the point where you can be taken to court for writing someone’s name and address down on a formal sheet of paper, how come people want to advertise their profile to everyone who wants it? What a crazy world of paradox!

Yes I am talking about pet insurance. The longer you have a pet the more it becomes a family member. Just like any other family member your pet can get sick to. We all have some kind of medical coverage for husbands, wives and our children. The cost of medical treatment just keeps going up. The same is true of vet cost for your pet. It makes good sense to get pet insurance so that this important member of the extended family can get medical treatment when needed. I have had pet insurance for all my pets and am glad I do. There have been many reasons to use it over the years.

Water surprisingly does more damage than good on the exterior body, and the cause of the harmful effects of water can be outlined in one word: Oxidation.

Oxidation is the leading reason we wrinkle. Oxidation is at the root of most diseases. Oxidation is the cause of skin cancer. Oxidation is the reason most of us will die.

Oxidation takes place when excessive oxygen, in combination with oxidizing agents, starts a disastrous journey that leads to the development of free radicals, causing an unbalancing of electrons and eventually damage to cells that were otherwise healthy and productive contributors to a well body. These injured cells can themselves become aggressors and produce more free radicals.

Pure water can result in Oxidation when damp skin or hair is exposed to catalysts such as warm air, sunlight or direct heat. Of course, today’s water is almost never what is known as pure, and as a result of this, Oxidation is less the cause of the water itself, but rather of what is present in the water.

The most dangerous oxidative agents are present right in the tap. Tap water is intentionally loaded full of oxidizers including chlorine, chloramines and bromine.

Statistics on the amount of these chemicals in tap water can be suprising. For example, because one hundred people died in Milwaukee from bacteria in drinking water years ago, it has become typical to find over three times the chlorine in the city’s tap water than is legally necessary in public pools! You literally might be using pool water to cleanse your face and hair. In addition, today’s water is loaded with minerals such as calcium, iron and copper perhaps beneficial inside the body, but potentially disastrous to hair and skin. Just over a decade ago, a study in the United Kindgom linked hard water with eczema. And in case you think that does not harm you, more than 90 percent of Americans get hard water from the tap daily.

Understanding how hard your water is and how much chlorine it is composed of can encourage you to purchase hair and skin care options that will actually protect your natural hair texture, color and shine as well as stop or even reverse signs of aging on the skin. So what are your options?

Check Your Water. Do a simple chlorine test with OTO (orthotolodine) and get a hard water test strip to test for hardness. Simply buy the OTO at your local pool store and dispense 5-10 drops into a small glass of water to see if the water turns yellow. If it become yellow, it has enough chlorine to provoke oxidation.

Use antioxidant treatments that are of the right type and percentage to have an impact. An active form antioxidant, such as fresh-dried ascorbic acid at 10 percent concentration or higher, actually ceases oxidation on the hair, scalp and skin. Vitamin E, in a 5 percent concentration, is very successful on the skin to prevent oxidation from affecting lipids in and around skin cells.

So you believe you have the best antioxidant product? Don’t believe the hype; see for yourself. Your test kit will also test your antioxidant products to see whether they are neutralizing oxidative agents and thus are active. When you test your water and it becomes yellow from the chlorine oxidation, place one drop of your favorite antioxidant serum or cream to the water. If it is truly an antioxidant, or if the antioxidant is still active, the color will disappear like magic. If it doesn’t, the antioxidant is dead.

Did you know some people with perfectly normal mental health suffer from seasonal affective disorder during winter? It sometimes becomes apparent in summer time too. Best known as the winter blues and winter depression, it’s a mental condition related to depression, which causes the patient to lose energy and enthusiasm, often overeating and sleeping too much. When it occurs in summer, it’s referred to as Reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder. Traditional treatment for the disorder (based on the winter blues) is mostly based on light therapy and anti-depression medication, while other resources such as ionized air administration, behavioral therapy and melatonin hormone supplements are also used.

One of the most costly facets having to do with home ownership can be roof repair. It can be one of the simplest, as well.

Initially, it is always better to remember that prevention is as important as the repair itself. A yearly venture to the attic can preempt extensive water damage or rotten wood because of faulty roof construction, damaged flashing, or worn or damaged roofing. Additionally, damage due to leaks or exposure to the elements can be the cause of rot, mold, and more costly problems. Most of the time, these leaks begin, as small, unnoticeable places leading to more serious problems eventually if not noticed and addressed quickly.

When you get to the attic, look for indicators of dampness, rot, or mold. The best time to do the inspection is during or just after a heavy rain. note that the places of moisture May not lie directly beneath the leak in the roof. Water can move several feet down rafters, joists, or pipes to totally different places. From the place where the water seems to collects, follow its path back upward until its entry point can be seen.

The Roof Installation is quite simple. Once located, the point is to be repaired post-haste. Drive a large nail into the area of the leak in order to locate and repair it from the top of the roof.

Search around chimneys, vent pipes, and roof vents both from underneath the roof in the attic, and above it. Notice the flashing and make sure that it is in good condition, flat and smooth with no creases, bends or turned up areas.

While atop the roof, search for any torn, damaged, or missing shingles. This should be done only if the roof design is such as to allow you to walk on it. Otherwise, if the roof construction is too steep or high, it is safer to leave this job to a professional roof contractor or a company that specializes in Roof Installation.
