Teens Need to Wait Until Adulthood Before Drinking

With the increasing number of teens in our society who are engaging in alcohol abuse is it possible that American students are disregarding what they are learning and choosing to drink to an excess anyway?  One of the key alcohol abuse facts that needs to be emphasized is this.  According to the alcoholism research literature, the older people are before they start drinking the less chance that they will become alcohol abusers or alcoholics.  In other words, if teenagers don’t start drinking until they are 21-year-old adults, their chances are greatly improved that they will not become problem drinkers.  This information needs to be a key focal point in the American educational process.
