What Can I Do To Prevent Anxiety Attacks?

I have recently started suffering from anxiety attacks and I really don’t want to have to deal with these. Is there anything that I can do that will help me to prevent these attacks? I really hate the feeling I get when I am having them, and I don’t want to freak out other people either if there is any way to avoid it. I am trying to figure out what types of situations are most likely to bring them on just so I can try to avoid this situations whenever possible, but there must be something else I can do about these.
