The Crusades Set of Chess Pieces
The crusades were an important time in the history as it was supposed to be a decisive war between the Christians and the Muslims. the war was fought to prove who is more powerful. It is hard to believe in this day and age that the war lasted for more than a thousand years! This set is however based on the years between 1095 and 1292. This was when King Rickard I was the king of England and Sala- Ed- din was the Muslim general. Even in the chess set, studio Anne Carlton has depicted the same while creating the figures. The queens on either sides are the wives of the king or general and the pawns are archers.
