We all know that the Wilson F1100 football is the offical game football of the NFL. But it is also commonly refer to as “The Duke”. This is in reference to Wellington Mera, whose nickname was the Duke. This man was a devoted booster, administrator, and ower of the New York Giants for 81 years. He died in October of 2005 at the age of 89. Wilson have reintroduced this ball that was discontinued in 1969 in his memory. What a great way to keep a great man’s sprit alive that through the ball in which the game is played.
