I Started a Roof Cleaning Business With My Brother
I had a brother that went off to college but because he liked to party he did not do to well. He dropped out after a year or so and came back to live with mom and dad. He continued to act like a jerk for awhile until I became a graduate myself. I got out of high school and decided I wanted to start a roof cleaning business. I was not much for school so college was not a choice for me. I told my brother my idea and took him around to show him all the roof’s in the city that had black streaks on them. I told him what I read was that the black streaks are just roof algae and that it can be cleaned using low pressure so no damage is done to the shingles. We decided to form a partnership and split the profits half and half. We started our roof cleaning company the next spring and did it full time. I will admit it was a lean first couple of years, running a service business is harder than I would had ever imagined. Roof cleaning is not for everyone, I can tell you that. It is dangerous and you have to be very careful or things can go wrong in a hurry. I still own my roof cleaning business and do quite well for myself but it has been an uphill battle.
