Traveling to Jerusalem and Back
I had never heard this story from Mormon history until recently, but my Jewish friend loved it. One of our apostles in mormon history named Orson Hyde (of Jewish descent) traveled by himself to Jerusalem, built an altar (as I recall), and dedicated the land for the Jews. My friend had no idea that we viewed Jews so positively. He is another person I would love to talk to and ask him about his journey – how he survived and the people that he met along the way. I wonder what things he missed out on when he went away for a year and if he was ever in any danger.
