When the Transformer Blew
At our last LAN party, the transformer blew. I’m not kidding. It actually caught the wall on fire! Now, I wasn’t sure if it was the electric company’s fault (which they claim it wasn’t) or just a faulty transformer, but boy were my parents angry when they saw the living room. We stopped the fire within a few seconds, having an extinguisher on the kitchen wall, but the damage was done. I lost the game we were playing right as I was about to win! The wall didn’t look so good either. Anyway, we ended up calling the LAN transformer manufacturer. They didn’t think it was the transformer, but the fact that it was new upset them. We sent them the faulty transformer and they sent us a new one and some money for the damages. They are a great company and I really appreciated having something to tell my parents.
